My name is Marcela, I'm eighteen years young and I study medicine. This blog will be about, well, everything. I've been a serious(ish) member of the blogosphere since June of 2012, with a blog about classic movies named Best of the Past, which I seriously encourage some checking out if you're into that stuff. After writing for a while on there, the need to write about other things, other interests, things that happen in my life, was quick to come up. Hence the birth of Call Me Nina.
I am a very talkative and communicative person, as you may take from the whole having-two-blogs thing, so expect frequent posting, with a certain degree of ramblyness in each one of them. I'm very sincere, sometimes brutally honest, so I'd like to apologize in advance if I've offended anyone of my lovely readers. It wasn't my intention.
Anyhoo, what else do you need to know about me? I love everything old. I listen to loads of old music, I watch loads of old movies, I read loads of old books and I love to study more in order to find out how the little guys who lived before me managed to get around in the fascinating world of the past. You'll see a lot of that here. Even though I do have a Classic Film blog, I can't promise this blog will be Classic Film-free. Why would I even do that?
But, despite my love for the past, my heart has a place for the future: I also adore science. I love watching out for the advances of the future, the inventions that will change the way we live our every day lives, the new findings that will improve and elongate the lives of those who need them. I am fascinating by the functioning of the human body, which I consider a perfect machine, and I yearn to find out more about it every day.
I'm a pretty modern girl. I like to live my life on my own terms, follow my own dreams and make sure I do things my way. I'm a feminist and a liberal. The song whose lyrics are currently sitting on your left are, I feel, the best description of my personality. I always want things done my way. If that makes me a stubborn, pig-headed idiot, so be it. But I like to think it makes me an independent and consistent individual.
